Can we hope that Soccer Punch Productions will develop a new version of Infamous and Sly Cooper for fans of this series in the future?
The Infamous series of action-adventure games was developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. This series follows the adventures of Cole MacGrath and Delsin Rowe, who must decide their destiny to become a good or bad character. This collection includes three main games named Infamous 2, Infamous and Infamous Second Son. Along with them, additional packages were also released under the title Infamous: Festival of Blood and Infamous First Light. Also, this collection includes several comic books with the same name that were released by DC.
Sly Cooper is also a series of games that have been released in the style of platformer and stealth for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The first three games in the series were developed by Sucker Punch Productions. While the fourth version of this game was developed by Sanzaru Games when Soccer Punch was making Infamous. The first three games were remastered by Sanzaru Games as The Sly Collection in high definition for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
New version of Infamous and Sly Cooper game
According to the latest game news, Soccer Punch Productions confirmed in a statement that no new version of Infamous or Sly Cooper is currently being developed by this company or any other studio.
The company stated: “As our games are developed and grow at a scale and complexity, they require the full attention of our studio. As a result, due to our full focus on our current project, we have no plans to make a new version of Infamous or Sly Cooper, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to these franchises. “These characters are very special, very dear to us, so we never say never and we may one day turn to making new versions of these franchises, but there are definitely no Infamous or Sly Cooper games in development right now.”
In related news, it is stated that Sucker Punch Productions will soon put the inFAMOUS 2 user-generated content servers under maintenance and move them to a new location in order to keep them active for longer. Either way, these servers will eventually shut down for good one day, but Sucker Punch Productions hopes to keep them active as long as there are active players to play.
The studio is also working on Cole’s Legacy downloadable content for Infamous: Second Son, which was previously only available as part of the Collector’s Edition of the game. Now Soccer Punch wants to make this downloadable content available to all regions through the Playstation Store so that players who have not been able to experience it so far can have a chance to play it.
