The previous accusations and restrictions that were heaped on Huawei were few, but now the accusation of spying on US military intelligence by Huawei has been raised again.
The US Department of Commerce is conducting an investigation into the Chinese technology company Huawei, citing “concerns about security issues and the possibility of sending military data through Huawei equipment located near a US military base.”

Huawei equipment is placed on cell towers near military bases and missile silos and has the ability to transmit regional information and data to China. Hence, this issue has caused the United States to worry.

The accusation of spying on US military intelligence by Huawei
The proximity of Huawei equipment to the US military base has caused many concerns for the US about the theft of military information and sensitive data and its transfer to the Chinese authorities. Hence, the US Department of Commerce has begun an investigation into the company.
After Joe Biden officially started working as president in early 2021 (1400 AD), the United States Department of Commerce conducted a series of investigations on Huawei. Reuters recently obtained a 10-page document that included a 2021 subpoena detailing how Huawei shares data with domestic parties.
Federal Communications Commission member Brendan Carr claims cell towers near Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana have been using Huawei technology for some time. Accordingly, it is possible that the phones that used this cell tower to communicate contained information about that military base. Brendan Carr said:
“In fact, the main concern is that if an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) attack were to occur, these technologies might be used as an early warning system.”
The US Department of Commerce did not comment on the investigation and did not confirm or deny the existence of the investigation, however one member noted:
“Protecting U.S. citizens and their security from harmful intelligence gathering is critical to protecting our economy and national security.”
The Chinese Embassy in Washington announced in a statement that the US government is trying to destroy Huawei and other Chinese telecommunication companies by abusing the power of arbitration and the concept of national security. The United States intends to continue unsupported actions without providing a solid reason to prove that these companies are a threat to the national security of the United States and other countries.
On the other hand, it is not clear what actions will be taken in this regard if Huawei is recognized as a threat to the United States by the National Security Agency. Also, it cannot be said definitively that Huawei equipment has the ability to collect and share information.
The US government, by accusing Huawei of spying on behalf of the Chinese government, has taken steps to reduce possible risks. In 2018 (2017), former US President Donald Trump signed a defense bill regarding the use of technologies from Chinese companies.
Under the bill, the US government and its contractors are prohibited from using certain technologies from Huawei, ZTE and other Chinese companies. A year later, the US government added Huawei to the export blacklist and imposed sanctions against it, which has involved Huawei in major crises.
