The easiest way to Set up Email Forwarding on Gmail

Whether it’s Hotmail, Yahoo mail, Gmail, or another email service provider, every one of these email services has the option of forwarding an email. Within a business, there are many reasons that you want to forward multiple emails, especially to your employee. Maybe in school, you want to forward a single email to 500 students at once using the work email. Or you are migrating from an older email service provider like yahoo mail to Gmail or Hotmail, with a single click you want to forward all the emails. As I said before there could be any reason, that’s why today I will guide you on how to Set up Email Forwarding on Gmail.

Gmail is offering two types of forwarding emails, manual and Automatic, both have their share of use. But if you are used Gmail for years for your work (free version), maybe due to limitations you have purchased an Email server. Instead of informing your clients about the email just set up an automatic email forwarding on your Gmail. This way will be directly forwarded to you automatically.

1. Manually Forward Email in Gmail

It does not matter if you are using the Gmail app or the browser, the steps of manually forwarding an email inside Gmail are the same. And also remember that with the default features of Gmail, you cannot manually forward multiple emails, only you can forward a single email.

Steps to Forwarding a single Email in Gmail

  1. Gain access to your Gmail account using the browser or the Gmail App (It means login to Gmail).
  2. Tap or open the email that you want to forward.
  3. Click or Tap on the three dots. (It is located at the next to reply button or top right-corner)
  4. Tap or click on Forward.
  5. Insert the email address that you want to forward to email (You can insert multiple emails to forward this email to).
  6. If everything is gone smothly, tap or click on the send button.

Manually Forward multiple emails simultaneously

As I said before, you cannot forward multiple emails at once with the built-in features of Gmail. However, still, there is a way that you can forward 50 emails at once using the Multi Email Forward by cloudHQ. This is an extension within the Chrome Web Store, so you need to install it.

To install the Multi Email Forward by cloudHQ, follow the steps below.

  1. Click here, it will take to the chrome web store to the Mutil Email Forward extension.
  2. Click on Add and wait.
  3. Click on Add Extension.

After installing the extension, go the Gmail and follow the instructions.

  1. Select All the emails that you want to Farward.
  2. Click on the Multi forward email.

The moment you click on the multi-email forward, you will see the following options.

Choose the option that is most suitable for you and then send it over, then insert the email that you want to forward the emails.

Note: During selecting an option the CloudHQ will ask you to create an account.

2. Set up Automatic Email Forwarding on Gmail

Automatic email forwarding is really convenient in case you are taking a leave from the office or maybe for another work. This way the incoming emails will be automatically forwarded to the Gmail that you have configured.

Here are the steps to configure Automatic Email Forwarding on Gmail.

  1. Open the Gmail on the browser, and then click on the gear icon to access all the settings.

Once the Gmail Settings are visible to the eye, you have to click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP.

  • The moment you are on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, click on the Add a Forwarding Address.
  • Insert the email that you want the emails should be forwarded.
  • Then in the new tab, you have click on the proceed.

The moment you are done with the steps, a verification code will be sent to the email client that you inserted. Tell the person, to open his/her email to confirm it.

After you have configured the email on the client email, go back to your Gmail settings to configure the settings.

  • By default the Email Forwarding is disable, so, choose Forward a copy of incoming mail to.

After you choose the option, you can also configure the settings for emails in your inbox, the settings are listed below.

  • Keep Gmail’s copy in the inbox
  • Mark Gmail’s copy as read.
  • Archive Gmail’s copy.
  • Delete Gmail’s copy.

Once everything is done, click on save changes and you are good to go.
