Release of MIUI 13.1 based on Android 13

As we said, currently MIUI 13.1 based on Android 13 has reached the two flagships of Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Although these test builds seem to be limited to China, users can download them now due to their release on the Internet; But these builds may not necessarily be installable. In fact, the possibility of installing them is completely dependent on the IMEI number

For now, however, the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro have received V13.1.22.7.28.DEV, and the DEV extension here indicates that they are developer builds. If past experience is anything to go by, these builds can only be installed on devices enrolled in the MIUI beta program in China.

Note that both builds are over 5 GB in size. Apparently, Xiaomi has based these builds on Android 13 Beta 3 and has reached some sort of stability by fixing the bugs. Of course, Google has since released the fourth beta of Android 13 and several iterative updates, however, these builds have only contained bug fixes, most of which are specific to the Pixel series of smartphones.

Currently, Xiaomi is yet to confirm the existence of MIUI 13.1 and while there were evidences of Xiaomi working on MIUI 14, this may mean that some of the Chinese company’s devices will receive Android 13 via MIUI 13.1. . Most likely, Xiaomi will determine the assignment of this issue while waiting for the Android 13 public beta program in less than a month.
