Previous reports about the display of the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max claimed that these phones will not be equipped with a ProMotion (high refresh rate) display. And now, a report has been published in The Elec that reveals the type of display panel of the iPhone 14 series.
Similarity of iPhone 14 Pro display type with Galaxy Z Fold 4
According to The Elec, the iPhone 14 (6.1-inch display) and iPhone 14 Max (6.7-inch display) will be equipped with LTPO panels made of M11 material. M11 is an exclusive material used in the Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra display panels.
iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max also have 6.1 and 6.7-inch displays, respectively, which are LTPO panel type and support ProMotion. These new panels are made from Samsung’s M12 material. This material has not yet been used in the production of any display panel and is going to be introduced to the market for the first time, together with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4 phones.
According to The Elec, the display of all iPhone 14 models is produced by Samsung. It is said that Samsung is going to produce 80 million display panels. LG company is also responsible for supplying iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro Max display panels. RS-L material will be used in the construction of these panels.
