Apple today unveiled the next version of its operating system called macOS Ventura with several notable new features during WWDC 2022.

Apple’s new operating system called MacOS Ventura was unveiled today at WWDC 2022. The operating system includes features such as Stage Manager, Continuity Camera and new security updates.

Stage Manager helps you focus on the program you are using without any problems and put it in the middle of the page and put all the unused programs together.

Continuity Camera allows macOS users to use their iPhone as a webcam. Using the Continuity feature, the Mac can automatically detect the iPhone camera when it is close to the Mac and use it as a webcam. When this connection is made, the continuous camera offers features such as Center Stage, Portrait mode, and more. It also uses the iPhone’s Ultra Wide camera to enable Desk View mode, which shows the user’s face and the top of his desk.

The Handoff feature has also been added to FaceTime, allowing users to start their FaceTime call on an Apple device and transfer it to another nearby Apple device.

New Safari browser capabilities in MacOS Ventura

In the Safari browser, Tab Groups allow friends and family to share their favorite sites and see live what others are viewing. This group can create a list of bookmarks on the start page. Other features of this browser include the ability to start conversations as messages or Direct FaceTime calls.

Similar to updates that will be added to iOS 16, messages on the Mac will be editable or the recently sent message can be canceled. The ability to mark messages as unread has also been added, and users can also recover accidentally deleted messages.

The macOS Ventura operating system will also improve Spotlight with extensive results and will be available on iOS and iPadOS. This feature allows users to take actions from within Spotlight. This feature now lists more apps, including Photos, Live Text, and more.

Next, Apple will add major improvements to the Mail app on the Mac. Canceling the sent email allows users to cancel the email a few moments after sending it. They can also schedule emails and set reminders for themselves.

ICloud Shared Image Library allows family members to create and share a photo library with up to six people. Everyone in this library can add, delete or edit images. They can also choose which photos to add from their library to the shared library.

In an effort to increase operating system security, Apple has introduced a feature called Passkeys for Safari. Passkeys are unique digital keys that remain on a person’s device and are never stored on a web server. Users can easily create digital passwords using Touch ID or Face ID, and iCloud Keychain stores all passwords to be synchronized with end-to-end encryption between devices.

Apple has also improved the latest version of its Metal 3 software, which is related to a better video game experience, on its devices. This improvement in software is due to the combination with Apple Silicon. In this regard, Apple announced that “greater experiences of video games” will be offered on Macs.

Other macOS Ventura updates:

Live Text now supports paused video frames and can recognize Japanese and Korean text as well.
Visual Look Up can detect animals, birds, insects, sculptures and other sights.
Weather and time plans are optimized for Mac.
New access tools such as putting live captions for audio content, converting typing to talking in calls and text checks.
System Preferences has been renamed System Settings and has an efficient design similar to the iPhone and iPad settings app.
macOS Ventura will be available to all supported Macs later this year. The developer beta will also be released later today, and the public beta will be available in July. To find out if your Mac supports macOS Ventura, you can read this article (List of devices that support MacOS 13 Ventura).
